Today I drew a Christmas candy cane in colored pencils. I was only using 2 colored pencils of red and white. A traditional red and white candy cane. It seems imperfect without some candy canes on Christmas decor. It can be used to dress up your Christmas tree, as Christmas souvenirs or simply as refreshments for kids and adults.
History Of Candy Cane
To those whose unfamiliar with candy cane, a glance of history on candy cane would be a great reading. A candy cane is a cane-shaped stick which traditionally white with red stripes and has a flavor of peppermint. Candy cane also come in a variety of other flavors and colors. Candy candy often associated with Christmas and it has a story behind it.
Legend has it that in 1670, the cane shaped candy became historical when a choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany who bent the candy sticks into canes to appear as shepherd’s hooks. The all-white candy canes were given out to the children which now commonly presented in white with red stripes.
