Favorite Features

First I’d like to share this week’s features! Thank you to all of you bloggers who share all the wonderful posts we get to read each week!

Memorial Day is tomorrow! I can’t believe it’s already that time of year. Janet from A Life of Balance shared a tutorial for this simple patriotic wreath. It seems very easy and quick to put together. She used her Cricut to cut the stars from balsa wood. I haven’t tried that yet, but I can’t wait to! This wreath is perfect way to greet your guests as you kick off the summer with your patriotic barbeque!

Next Joy from Artful Homemaking brings us a post on deep cleaning your home. She has some great tips and ideas. I deep clean areas of my home at least twice a year. I can’t stand dirty baseboards! Pulling out the refrigerator is another thing though, ha! That’s a bit harder. That usually happens when I drop something, then it turns into the next six hours in the kitchen knit-picking at little marks on every surface. In her post, Joy shares free printable checklists for when you get down and dirty in your house!

Claire from Pillar Box Blue shared this post on all of the things you can make with old blue jeans. I have a lot of old jeans that my son has grown out of. These ideas look like so much fun. In the article, she tells us exactly how to deconstruct jeans depending on what projects you’d like to make. That’s great for me, otherwise I’d just start chopping! Then I’d end up a pair and a half of jeans short for what I want to make. Some of these are perfect projects to keep your teens busy this summer. They may even be able to sell a few!

This wood tray was shared with us from Tiffany at Tee Diddly Dee. Can you believe this beautiful tray is a DIY?! I thought it was going to be an upcycle (love those too!) or a vignette tutorial, but she hand made this. In the post she shared how to make it, step by step. Since you make it yourself, you can customize it for your home. You could change the size, color, or handles, yet use the same tutorial. I think it’s beautiful and would fit perfectly into my house in a medium colored wood stain.

Finally we have Penny’s she shed from Penny’s Vintage Home. I am in love with the look of this trailer turned she-shed! It has turned out absolutely beautiful. Mr. H cut an old headboard in half, which is what you see on either side of the jut-out. Who would’ve thought it would look so cute. She repainted the jut-out in light grey with the pink door, and that makes the shed. I love those two colors together. The sunflower theme that runs across the shed is just perfect. If there’s A/C, I could just move in!

  1. Mel, this is one of my favorite links of yours and you have a lot of really good ones that you share so that is saying something. I will have to add this link up on my favorites for my monthly updates, too many great ideas not to share with others. Love the cleaning pintables, the old jeans and everything you can make, and that she shed trailer is super cute. Thanks Mel, really enjoyed this post of yours. Have a great weekend.
